STRETCH TENT OR TIPI TENT?
Stretch Tents Vs Tipi Tents
When considering what tent covering you would like for your outdoor event, it is best to fully understand what is out there in the marketplace.
If you want to avoid the “standard” marquee, the main two alternative tent structures for small and large events are Stretch Tents and Tipis.
What is the difference between a Stretch Tent and a Tipi?
What is the difference between a Stretch Tent and a Tipi? The short answer is – a lot. Stretch tents are large structures providing overhead coverage. Stretch Tents tend to be made from polyester or man made fabrications as they are lightweight and water resistant. The stretch tent is held up by lots of thin metal poles throughout the structure. Stretch tents are very lightweight, but for this reason do not perform well under any extreme weather. Stretch tents are a structure with one formation, an overhead coverage. They cannot be pitched in different positions as Tipis can.
Tipi Tents
The main beauty of Tipis in our opinion is that they are made of natural materials, from the wooden poles made from Scandinavian Spruce to the canvas that covers them. Tipis fit in well into natural rural environments as much as urban. Tipi tents can be pitched in many different ways, from having all the sides up to allow 360° airflow, to having some of the sides up to create a grand entrance, to having all the sides down for complete weather protection. Tipis offer waterproof, windproof coverage and come with non-absorbent flooring which Stretch Tents tend not to.
Tipis have a special magic about them when they are all lit up at night with our fairy lights throughout, giving a beautiful glow. We believe that Tipis are a much better solution to outdoor events that Stretch Tents as they are much more resilient to all weathers; are waterproof; they stand strong in the wind; come with flooring and lights and are made of natural materials.
